National Association of Systems Administrators Education Corporation (NASA Education) is the brainchild of John Blanchard, CEO of the National Association of System Administrators (NASA), Inc.

John created the non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 1999 in order to provide tuition for deserving individuals who wanted to study for careers in computer-related fields.

The scholarships were partially financed from the sale of old or obsolete equipment donated to NASA Education by NASA and its customers.
