NASA Education's current program is Project Fresh Start, which provides training to prepare U.S. veterans for workforce and community reintegration. The project is aimed at assisting veterans who are newly released, displaced, disabled, homeless or otherwise in transition or distressed.

After the participants have successfully completed their training, NASA Education will attempt to place them in competitive employment positions so they can utilize their new skills.

NASA accepts referrals of prospective participants from the Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS).

Veterans may also apply directly by using the Project Fresh Start application form
